pin 6 is sense for the microphone and pin 10 is sense for the headphones. So it should be, pin 1 and 3 are left and right microphone, pin 5 and 9 are left and right headphones. The front audio connector is a keyed-10 pin connector, and many front panel's are wired as individual pins rather than one solid block. It's also possible that your front-jack audio might be wired wrong.
Make sure you've installed the Realtek software, because it should do something like "what did you plug in?" when plugged in and switch the port.
Any suggestions before I try returning it? Updating drivers from Realtek wasn't a succes either, I'm thinking it has to do with my motherboard. Thinking I might give this a shot.Ībout a month ago I've made my first PC build which turned out pretty good so far, except for the fact that the microphone input, be it plugged in on the front of the case or directly into the mobo, picks up everything I play back on the headphone jack, on the front of the case. So I've been searching all over the internet with no answer so far.
